Recognition 2017

Congratulations to the Class of 2020 on completing Recognition! Enjoy the privileges that you have earned and are now bestowed upon you.

Saturday was a great day. Getting a call from my DS who you could tell was dead tired, but who couldn't contain the happiness of making it through most of the Doolie year. Being "human" as he called it again was something special. Seeing you can survive more even when your body says no are lessons he will take with him the rest of his life. Great job class of 2020 who now answers with Hoov instead of Target in Sight.

I am sure it is gratifying to your DS and a proud moment for pop.:)

He said it was the hardest thing he has ever done - physically and mentally. He can't say much about it as they really do keep it secret. He was even mad that they allowed the final command to be shown in A Year in Blue. I do recommend that for any prospect and prospective parent as it does a nice job of showing life as a Doolie. He went through BCT and said while hard he knew he could do it, but Recognition pushes you to the limit. The bad news for him is as a member of Honor Guard (he is a SMACK as 4Cs are called) he has a separate recognition for it in the coming weeks. At least it only last one day.

Just one reflection from my DS about the challenge of recognition. His sister asked him how many push-ups he did and he replied "too many to count". :)
