Would it look good if one of the recommendation letters is from a US Army Veteran? Thanks
Ah, thank you. I know him about as well as I know most of my recommendations, I worked with him at Habitat for Humanity. It would look good if the veteran actually knew you well enough to be able to give a meaningful and credible reco. And if that veteran otherwise meets the MOC’s criteria. Sending a veteran’s reco just for the sake of sending a veteran’s reco would be gratuitous.
Having served, while honorable, doesn’t necessarily give someone special insight on your capabilities or potential. Nor does it necessarily give someone more “pull” with the selection committee.
Then yes, that would be a great idea. I know that MOC have different preferences for letter of recommendations. My MOC requested that at least one is from a teacher and the other two are from someone in your community. What I did was I used one of my teachers, my coach, and someone I volunteered under. So since you worked with him at Habitat for Humanity, that would be a good person to ask a letter of recommendation from.Ah, thank you.
