Recommendations Problem

Hello all, I have been hard at work on my co2028 application, asking teachers for recommendations, etc. However, I read today that apparently my English and Math references only have to submit an evaluation, and not a full-on letter? This would make their lives a lot easier so if someone could clarify that would be great.

What is the limit on recommendation letters? I've seen people say 1, 3, 5, and 7. I'm not sure if my website is glitching but I've been able to add 4 optional letters of rec (community service manager, HS counselor, HS history teacher, HS machine shop prof).

But if that's all a glitch and it limits at something like 3 letters, should I tell my teachers to hold off on submitting?


For some reason the site duplicated my community service manager's slot and now there's 5?! So just treat it as there being 4 'other recs'.

Yes, your Math and English teachers complete a form that they access via their email. You provide the portal with their email and you inform the teacher and ask that they check their inbox and spam. A large percentage of high school servers block or spam these. Sometimes you may need to obtain a private email address.

You may submit additional, traditional letters. BGO training this summer explained that 3 is a good number, and that those letters should tell something about you that your Math and English teachers would say. For example, maybe your pastor can speak to your charity work, or mentoring of younger kids. Maybe your employer can speak to your promptness and work ethic.

The link below describes what is expected of the required teacher evaluations. You’ll see they will be responding to prompts as well as offerininf opinions. They will access the link sent to their email, input their responses and submit.
