Remedial Status- where to go from here?

My son received an LOA back in August from USCGA. He completed the Dobmerb process in early September but had not received any further information since. After reaching out to admissions, he was told that his result status with DODMets is showing as “remedial”. With the site down they were not able to give us any further information regarding what additional exam or information is needed, and suggested we reach out to DODMets directly to find out. Does anyone have suggestions as to the best way to navigate this? We’ve tried emailing the address they provide on the site to no avail. Thanks in advance for any help!

Has your son tried the “Who To Contact” on the DoDMETS landing page and tried the phone number there?

To my understanding, DoDMETS is for scheduling the exam with civilian doctors. DoDMERB is responsible for determining if a candidate meets ascension standards. Now, since DoDMERB is down, you either wait or can email their helpdesk to see what the remedial is. However, they can't schedule remedial exams until their systems are back. (Source: I have two remedial codes, one requiring another exam. They told me to wait until their systems are back online)

Just check my DoDMETS profile and this it what it says:

"You have completed the medical history survey.
Your examinations results will be submitted to DoDMERB for review by the doctors you visit.
Thank you for using DoDMETS."

It has been 3 years now, but when my daughter called the DoDMETS number regarding an issue, they were very responsive. I agree with THX2667 that since the system is down, they might not be able to schedule the exam. However, DoDMETS should at least be able to give you the codes and what exams they would be asking for. That way, you could also start gathering medical records related to that issue so that you have them available in case you are asked for them. Keep in mind, your son does not have to have medical completed to get an offer from USCGA. The application process is separate from medical. If his medical is not complete, then he could still be offered a Conditional Appointment to USCGA or to the CGAS program.

Thanks for your reply! Yes, it directed us to CIV team contact info. We got right through but they had not received the orders and suggested calling Dobmerb for explanation. Every extension is for a woman named Maria who’s voicemail notes that she retired in May of 2021 and to try emailing. I’m not stranger to military medical red tape after 20 years, but my goodness it’s crazy how long the site has been down and lack of communication. I guess another lesson in hurry up and wait!!
