Good morning to all.
I just want to tip my hat to anyone who’s going through this a second time. The wait is tough. I admire your determination!
And as a side note:
What’s up with the kitten eating a strawberry @blinkus? I understand the military isn’t the Third Army that my father served in under General Patton, but a pussycat eating fruit?
I need an explanation and I’m sure others do too.
And Congrats Blinkus!

And the fact that they want to be a Marine officer makes it so much better lol

I will be so thankful to put this two year road of waiting to an end no matter the outcome. I am proud of my DS for persevering knowing what he was up against with his CB waiver. NROTC has been an incredible opportunity this year and he is a Marine Option which means an additional PT at 5am along with much higher physical standards than his fellow NROTC mates. Three to four days a week of early morning workouts when the rest of the college students are sleeping in. It sounds simple but the college culture is not at all a military culture, unless maybe you go to a military based college. In fact your kid is immersed in a culture completely counter to what they are trying to achieve. Protestors barking at you on your way to class when you are in uniform. It’s not for the faint of heart. My DS is coming home today from a three day training at ODO and I can’t wait to hear about it. It was below freezing this weekend and they slept outside, brought their own water and MRE’s, had a mission they had to achieve with mock outposts and intel…it sounded very intense. I am so proud of all that he achieved this year. He has grown so much. I definitely recommend ROTC to all of you who are left here at the end and looking a Plan B-D. I truly wish everyone the best. These next few weeks will have the highest highs and the lowest lows. And if you should get that TWE … you will see your DD/DS pick themselves up, dust themselves off and become something greater than they expected.
