If there's more AP courses available at your high school, then I'd suggest taking some more.... unless there aren't that many offered. Your coursework seems pretty robust considering all the honors courses that you have, but more AP courses would definitely look better for your academic component.

Take the PSAT to determine your areas to study/your strengths, and make a plan to study effectively. Take a practice SAT as well, and use those scores to tailor your study regimen.

I would definitely work on your CFA..... your mile is way below the average, I'd recommend working to get sub-8 or sub-7:30 in order to be competitive. Work on pull ups as well -- one pull up is better than the max for the flexed arm hang. Crunches and pushups can be improved as well, try to aim for the averages or the maxes that they have posted on the admissions page or somewhere online. BB throw and shuttle run are pretty good in my opinion.

The sports involvement is great, along with your activities. Aim to achieve leadership positions in those activities and sports and try to make an impact while being in them. Certifications are pretty impressive, keep working towards getting your PPL.

There is no "golden ticket" into the gates of WP or USAFA. No one knows what a successful application looks like until the academies send out their decisions, but it looks like you're keeping busy, which is always good.
Physically, I am a bit confused. Are you male or female? I looked up freshmen football at Anthony Wayne, and a quick glance at the roster seems to only include typically male names (i.e. Ethan). If you are male, doing the flexed arm hang isn't even an option. If you are female, ak29 had great advice about pullups. Being a C/O 2029 candidate, the way I'm prepping for the CFA is doing pushup, crunches, and pullup sets. For instance, 10 pushups, 30 sec break, another 10 pushups, another 30 sec break, etc. for five sets, right after wake up and right before bed. Eventually try to build up to more and more pushups per set, as well as doing more and more sets. I run cross country, so the mile was never my problem, but the way that I would go about improving it would be to run for mileage first. Go on 20, 30, 45 minute comfortable runs. Try to get a bit faster minutes/mile pace each day. Then, eventually, do some speed drills every so often, aiming to run half a mile at your goal mile pace. Sprinkle in some "progress checks" as well, by running a mile as fast as you can. Try to tire yourself out a bit before running them, to replicate the CFA more accurately. It takes a long time to significantly improve anything in the CFA, and the mile is no different.

Other than your CFA you seem pretty stacked man keep up the good work.

Have you taken Chemistry? You will need that class. Work on your CFA because I believe your mile time is disqualifying right now. Run, run, run. Your test scores are a major part of the application, so you need to be studying and taking the tests often. Good luck!

I agree with AimHighMom 100%

I talked about CAP in this post: https://www.serviceacademyforums.co...e-and-are-my-chances-good.96213/#post-1038119

With you being class of 2027 in high school, you have plenty of time to promote in CAP. Work on it, take your time, get to know each rank you're in.
As for the CFA, look at the CAP Super Chart. Look at the fitness requirements for the Spaatz/Cadet Col.

And yes, there are Golden Tickets to USAFA. If you do not get in direct from high school, do not despair. There are plenty of options including prep schools (yes, multiple prep schools, not just USAFAPS.) If you're fortunate enough to get a Falcon Foundation Scholarship, that is a Golden Ticket. As is enlisted LEADS program. And often times, preppies/prepsters do better at USAFA.

Yes, there are programs that have a significantly higher success rate, but there is no one path that AlphaBravo's future application to USAFA in 2026/2027 could take to ensure acceptance into any of those.

Unless you mother is Lori Loughlin circa 2019, there's no ensured acceptance into any college but community college. Casting yourself into a pyre at any time during or after the process will not help. The best you can do is your best, plan for plans B, C, D etc, which includes prep school (self prep IS an option) ROTC, enlisting, college/reapplication etc.

I would definitely take Physics (with lab), Calculus, and Chemistry (with lab) as they are all required in freshman year. If your school offers AP classes you should try to take them. The SAs want you to take the most difficult classes offered and do well. As a point of reference, my DD took 11 Honors courses and 8 APs with a heavy emphasis on math and science.

Take a practice ACT and SAT under test conditions. See which test you do better on and prep for that test. Your academics comprise 60% of your selection. your standardized test scores represent 40% of your admission evaluation. This is the easiest part to prep for and it has the biggest impact on admissions.

Your transcript represents 20%. This takes into account:
  1. Your class rank relative to your class size
  2. The competitiveness of your high school
  3. The difficulty of your courseload relative to what is offered (APs, Honors etc.)
  4. Your grades in core math and science courses
RAND Corporation did a study describing the USMA Admissions model: https://www.rand.org/content/dam/rand/pubs/research_reports/RR700/RR723/RAND_RR723.pdf

Giving you feedback on your CFA results is tough because we don't know if you are male or female. You can look at the maximum scores available and shoot for those. You may consider trying out for the Cross Country team as running is a big part of your CFA and your fitness requirements at the SAs.

Good luck!
