Just curious if anyone else on this forum has had a root canal before. I had one 2 years ago and saw that typically they last for a minimum of 8-10 years, but can go on a lifetime. Has anyone experienced this, if so, did you have to get an implant or are you still happy with your current root canal?

I had one done by a Navy Dentist. It is older than you are. I didn't have it capped until about 5 years ago. Never had an issue. I am sure you will be fine. The great part of the Navy, mandatory check ups twice a year!!!! Don't worry if you have an issue they will take care of it.

I had TWO on one tooth, which wound up being pulled w/in two years. Depends on what's going on in your mouth, the skill of the "canaler"... If I had to do it over (with no dental insurance) I would just have it pulled. But, my experience is not typical.
