ROTC Dilemma

I am debating on whether to submit all my info now to try to get in the first round they look at everything or wait until I take my next ACT and put my information in then. I currently have a 29 on my ACT but I don’t want to waste time by waiting to get my next score after I take it, What should I do?

Which ROTC Branch are you referring to? General rule of thumb is wait to submit your strongest package.

I am not as familiar with the AF and NROTC processes - I'm sure someone will be along shortly to advise. Good luck to you.

Aside from the SAT/ACT scores, which you can update after submission, you shouldn't submit now if you can improve in some areas. The application is only scored once and the first board scholarships are not a large number and often go to those who walk on some form of water.

I submitted mine on the due date. I was all in on CGA and decided at the last minute AF and Army would be a good fit too. I received and accepted a 3 year campus based scholarship.

Yeah, I have a similar dilemma. I have heard from a number of sources that it is advantageous to submit later in the year as to not be against the best applications. Submitting for the October selection board may make you look less attractive simply by comparison with people with 33-36's.

It doesn't matter what you look like compared to others on the first board. Your competition is against the entire pool of applicants and you will be (re)considered against that pool on each subsequent board.

EDIT: That being said, there is no advantage to getting in early if you can improve your application, as stated earlier.
