The application itself is pretty nice. My DS had set up his account before the new application format was rolled out, and he said the new appl. is definitely more user friendly. However, as you can see by reading the postings that have been out here lately, that there's not a lot of input on it in terms of instructions or the procedural aspects of the entire process. ... glad you did not have to suffer through the portal that I did. Well, suppose that comes with being the guinea pig application pool.
Each section of the application has its own tab across the top of the screen (I.e. personal info., school selection info., test scores/grades/contact info for guidance counselor & person administering PFT, survey, document uploads, etc.) I'm sure I'm missing one or two tabs and my verbiage may be off a bit, but you get the idea. If you haven't added any information in a particular tab, it's red. If you've provided some, but not all of the information, it turns yellow. If you've provided all info. for a tab, it's green. When you first log in to the application, there's a home page (or desktop). It shows any messages from CC, as well as a summary of the status for each tab. So, it makes it pretty nice. But, as I said before, information on the process as a whole is lacking a bit. Seems somewhat similar, I had my sections listed going down the left side of the page. However, the nice addition you have is that your portal lists your completion status; I had to manually make sure everything was good to go. It looks like CC also integrated 2 portals as well. For me, I had the application which was in addition to the status completion portal. CC made a heck of a lot of changes; especially with the process for guidance and PFT and interviewing. Glad CC is finally making the portal more user-friendly.
