My question is, originally I received a 3 year scholarship to my top choice school, which is extremely competitive to get into (Had over 100k applications this year). Then on Friday, I received a letter saying they upgraded my scholarship to 4 years, and I was one of the top 1000 kids in the country for ROTC scholarship. However, I do not hear if I get into this school till March 31. So, my question is will I have an increased chance of getting into my top choice now? I have already talked to the ROTC commander at the school, and he told me he would tell the admissions department about it. Thank you for any help.

All schools are different. At some, having a substantial scholarship helps. At others, it won’t matter at all. You’re doing well to inform the parties who may influence the acceptance decision. Other than that, not much else to do.
