Hi.

I'm Stephanie. I'm a rising junior at a small private school in South Carolina.

My father did 26 years with NC Air National Guard and 4 years before that with MArine Reserves. =) He recently retired, so we are very excited about that.

I somehow found this site... and I'm not really sure how. XD

But anyways, I'm interested in applying to USAFA, though I'm not very sure that I can get in. =/

I really want to join guard this coming summer... so who knows? Maybe that will lead me into the right path.

Oh... And can someone tell me if South Carolina is a competitive state?

Thanks. =)

Hello Stephanie,

Welcome to the SA forums. It has been a great resource for me and I hope it will be for you also. If you really want to get in, start doing everything you can. Get your GPA/SAT up as high as possible, and also start getting in shape. As for how competitive South Carolina is, that is kind of a tough question. It is definitely not as competitive as California or Texas (there are a few other really tough ones), but it all really depends on who decides to apply for the class of 2015. Remember no matter how easy it is to get a nom in your state, you still have to get an appointment from the Academy. Hope I was able to help you out a bit. Good Luck on applying to USAFA.

Hiya Stephanie from the great state of SC! In total agreement with what 07eagle said. Try try try to be the best in all you can be when you apply. Make yourself stand out. The competition will be tough in every way. Getting a nomination is a horse of a different color over an appointment. Go get 'em! Good luck! :thumb:
