I am applying to West Point for the Class of 2014. I plan on taking the SAT two more times in October and November. I also plan on taking the ACT in December. I have a couple of questions.
Is December to late to send out scores to West Point? If not, when is the latest? If I do poorly on the ACT but well on the SAT, would that hurt my chances?

Thank you.:thumb:

db10, Why not take each test as many times as possible? Both the ACT and the SAT, so you can bring up the ACT and try for better scores on the SAT. No, Decemeber is not the latest you can send scores in. If I recall correctly, the SAT in January and the ACT in Febuary are the last two test results you can send in to West Point. Sorry about the third question, not very sure on what the answer is, just try and bring up both tests as best as you can:thumb:

To answer the third question, no, doing well on one test and poorly on another will not be detrimental. West Point will consider the highest relative scores between both tests when reviewing your application.

For example, someone gets a 34 on the ACT, and a 2000 on the SAT. Because the SAT is comparatively weaker (2000 SAT ~ 31 ACT), the ACT scores would be considered in the application.

HOWEVER, they will NOT take individual scores from the separate tests and mix them -- e.g., if you get a 30 English / 35 Math on one ACT, then a 32 English / 34 Math on another, they pick the highest and give you a new score with 32 English / 35 Math. If on the SAT you get 800 on the English score and 640 on your math, they will NOT take the 800 from English SAT and pair it with the 35 Math ACT.

December is not too late. You can keep taking through the January date.
Make sure that scores are sent directly to West Point - don't wait until you get the results to have them sent. Good Luck
