My name is Ben and I hope to attend USAFA's class of 2025. I am currently working on my congressional nomination for my representative. I have a 3.7 GPA and currently have a 1330 SAT(this was my first, and only, try in fall 2019) which I hope to bring up to at least 1450. The current SAT situation seems to be that there will be no SAT tests until the end of August. I was wondering if it is worth it to wait until fall to submit my nomination application so I can hopefully submit a better SAT score or if it is okay to submit my current statistics.
I appreciate any guidance you can provide.
Thank you

There's little to be gained by submitting your nom application this early. Amid the unknowns, wait as late as you can -- before the deadline, of course -- before submitting. That may/should allow you to include a new and higher test score.

Call the staffer at your congressman’s office, I had a similar question and I got it answered pretty well. It’s also nice to get to know the staffer because Chances are they will have to help you at some point down the road. They can also pull a few strings for you if they like you enough (ex prep school). But don’t be to annoying and become “that guy/girl”

I agree with waiting, no reason to rush. Having said that, realize USAFA will super score for you. My son originally planned not to take the ACT because he assumed, for whatever reason, it was a more difficult test than the SAT. A HS counselor convinced him to take the ACT and he did really well and never submitted his SAT. He received his nom in March. Take both tests as many times as you can.

Good luck!!
