Hello!

Alright, so my first SAT scores I was very disappointed with (scored a clean 1800).

So I took it again in March.

And this time I scored 2160, with all sections above 700.

Should I still consider taking it again in the fall?

And also... my GPA is normally at an A-, but I've had a harder time this year with a bigger course load accompanied by EMR classes, a part time job, sports, SAT class, Volunteering with the fire dept, tutoring grammar school kids, etc, etc, list goes on. Anyways, bottom line-- I'm afraid my cumulative GPA is going to drop to a B+ Is this going to harm my file a lot?

I received a 1820 my first time taking the SAT. I took it again and the highest I got combined was a 1900. I also had a couple Bs in AP classes (Chem, Calc) and still received an appointment to USAFA. Your scores are VERY good. I bet that one or 2 Bs won't do much harm. It didn't for me!

It will not hurt to take it again. I suggest taking it again as it can only be beneficial to you.

Thank you.

I'm more worried about my GPA, though.

Does WP recalculate your GPA? If they do then I don't think you would have too much to worry about GPA since they should be able to understand that you're taking harder classes with less time to focus on them.

As long as your class rank is high and stays high, I don't think you have much to worry about!

Don't worry about GPA very much. GPA is relative to the difficulty of your school therefore much more important is your class rank. If your school doesn't rank scores are much more important so thats a good thing you did well. Imho if you have all 700+s you don't need to take it again (those scores are competitive) but you can always make yourself more competitive with better scores. You don't lose anything but a Saturday morning so why not?
