Hi I’m new to the process. If a Senator or Congressman nominates an applicant who is later DQ’d because of CFA or DoDMERB or whatever else, can they nominate another applicant to replace them?
I am sure it depends on the senator but some definitely do this because my son got a nomination from his congressman and then a letter from one of the senators stating that he had selected 10 nominees and 10 alternates, naming my son as one of those alternates. If any of the nominees does not qualify he will then replace that slot. The letter further stated that my son would be notified if he then gets the nomination.Hi I’m new to the process. Uhhhh... perhaps technically, but not really, once the slate is submitted. After that point it's all in the academies hands and surely one of the 10 will be qualified. If they were all disqualified then perhaps it could happen, but I've never heard of it.Hi I’m new to the process. Because he only nominated 10 I am pretty sure he only has one slot, so yes the stars would have to align. Because my DS has a nomination from our congressman we are not counting on the alternate one to come through from Nelson but are hopeful that this is a sign that he is pretty competitive within the state so hopefully he will fair well in the district. Also, still waiting to hear from the other senator in Florida (Rubio).I am sure it depends on the senator but some definitely do this because my son got a nomination from his congressman and then a letter from one of the senators stating that he had selected 10 nominees and 10 alternates, naming my son as one of those alternates. Interesting, I’ve never heard of an alternate slate of 10 nominees in addition to the 10 actual nominees. The stars would really have to align for an alternate to ultimately receive a nomination in that scenario. I wonder if the MOC had 2 actual slots available that year, and thus submitted 2 slates of 10?
How did your DS make out?
