Nor I. We just don't have one in Va.I wasnt advocating for Unions one way or another. Just saying, union members get paid for jury dutyI'm in Virginia, a right to work state. We have an association they call it. I haven't joined in 11 years. For almost 100 dollars a month the greatest benefit is lawyer representation if one of the LDs accuse us of something. I'll take my chances. Those in unions do have it easier when it comes to jury dutyI actually want to do a trial. I get paid by my school district and the county pays a few dollars per day.
I think it's because they decipher your signature line and decide they don't want THIS guy!I don't want to give anyone the wrong idea. I WANT to be on a jury. They just don't pick me.
It really depends on what type of jury duty you have been called for as well as what type of trial. you really can't get tied down on long term federal jury trial which can last months sometimes, or a special grand jury which can sit up to a year or more. So just be clear when and if you are called that you have obligations that preclude your serving past a certain date. Congrats on the nrotc selection and enjoy the summer!I have been selected for jury duty and was wondering wether or not I should notify afrotc about it. I have received a scholarship however will not start my freshman year until the fall. As far as I can tell there should be no schedule conflicts.
I was called in three years ago but was never seated. I was hoping for a high profile case. I filled out a questionnaire a few days ago for the US district court of Eastern Virginia. My fingers are crossed.
