I am a type I scholarship winner. Does anyone know if the AFROTC needs to see my final senior transcript? My grades for the last quarter were not the best due to some very challenging courses. Do you know if they can take the scholarship away due to a poor, but passing final quarter?

I don't know specifically for AFROTC, but the scholarship selections are based on the information available at the time of the board review of the submitted records, so I think you'll be fine. My son did not have to send in final transcripts for his 4 year NROTC scholarship. Congratulations and good luck!

I don't know about the scholarship offer, but most schools want to see a final transcript and usually they will tell you that in their offer of admission. You may also see a little "blurb" in there about the offer of admission being contingent upon the successful completion of the senior year or some similar language.

The AFROTC scholarship can be revoked due to gpa, however, as others have stated I am not sure it is for hs gpa. If you read the fine print you will see that you MUST maintain a certain gpa.

The AF is slowing down the ROTC pipeline. I have stated this several times, the AF is not joking about that GPA. At our DS's det, several kids have been handed their walking papers, even as SRs in college with only a few months until graduation. Others did not get selected for summer training because of their grades.

Currently, if you go ROTC with the AF and have less than a 3.2 you were not selected for summer training. If you have less than a 3.0 you most likely did not get your number 1 choice for career field. If you have less than a 2.8 you were given your walking papers and not commissioned.

GPA is going to matter big time, so even if they don't ask for your final transcript and you got a pass for senioritis be ready to buckle down next yr.

Also, if the school receives the transcript from what I know at our DS's det, so will the det. Believe it or not when you show up at the det they already have a file about you with your stats. I.E., PFA, Dodmerb, scholarship type, etc.
