Can someone with knowledge compare/contrast West Point/Annapolis, I know thats a broad question, but basically focused on life at the academies, academics, and summer training?
Don't base your decision on where you want to go to school, but where you want to serve and what you want to do. If you can't stand the idea of six months at sea go army. If you want to fly fixed wing go navy. Get my drift?
Well... I think most of us here will agree with me when I say that the main issue you have to deal with is not the decision between the academies as much as it is the decision between the services (Army v. Navy/Marine Corps). You will spend four years at the academy; both USMA and USNA are great places. You will spend a minimum of five years AD afterward; you should be more concerned with the branch of the military you want to join.
I totally agree that the issue is the service not the school. If you want to be an Army officer West Point is the best school in the world. If you want to be in the Navy you can not beat Annapolis. From movies, books, etc it is fairly clear that these two services are differeint life-styles. Make your choice based on which service you think you will like the best.
