site called Gain Service Academy Admissions

There is a matrix for NROTC, that my oldest’s scholarship recruiter provided to him. Which I’ve seen on the SAF as well. Both of my boys were actually asked those specific questions, among others, in their ROTC interview.

Wouldn’t it be an awkward interview, to have amazing, articulate, researched, rehearsed answers to THOSE questions, but stumble along to any other questions 🤔

My DD’s best bud had an interview for Columbia last week and she went right to DD for interview help. The mom overheard them and said my DD was giving her pointers and suggestions on how to rephrase and handle when you need time to formulate an answer. Hoping she has a positive outcome!

MOC committees can ask some way out there questions. VERY hard to predict any other than the obvious -- Why do you want to attend USNA?

BGOs must cover certain topics. There are sample questions but most experienced BGOs have their own and vary them over time. It is true that BGO interviews are not all that critical in the admissions process. MOC interviews often count a lot. Depends on area.

Then again, there are many who pay nothing and are sucessfull in getting into a SA. Actually, between this forum, the web, SA websites ... everything you need is there. My DS got appointed into two SA's and spent less than 100 $ for SAT tests. Parents should be careful about pushing tieir children into a SA just for the Scholarship-having said that...the scholarship is icing on the cake if a SA is right for the student-and the student is right for the SA.
Amen to that
