SLE transportation questions

Hello everyone, I have several questions regarding SLE transportation.

Firstly, My mother is wondering how she can travel to West Point from Newark airport to pick me (candidate at SLE) up on the last day and attend the family tour. Can she utilize a ridesharing app such as Uber or taxi? Or maybe is there a train/metro station available from Newark?

Secondly, I understand that there is a train to New York(Grand Central Terminal). Where is the train station most accessible from West Point?

This is how I travel to West Point with my brother regarding the train (he is a cadet, I have a military ID). We flew into LaGuardia, took a bus to harlem, went to harlem train station, took the train to Garrison then took the ferry across. The ferry is not always working and I don’t know if civilians are allowed to use it. You can always uber!

The above from @mb2028 works for sure, especially for cadets; the other option I'd consider would be a car rental, so she rents one straight outta the airport and then drives up to USMA. A little bit more expensive probably, but also more straightforward (and you're not depending upon an Uber/taxi to pick you up, if that's the other option).

The ferry from Garrison to South Dock is only available to Military ID holders. Uber from Newark to West Point is doable, but expensive, and an Uber from West Point to Newark would be hard to get. By the time you spend all the money on the Uber, you could rent a car for a couple days, and have a lot more flexibility. The drive from Newark to West Point is MUCH better than the drive from LGA or JFK.
