Slight Portal Change

confusing as one person commented above that they had CPR without Nom so none of this makes much sense. Maybe it doesn't mean anything at all. :(

DD's also changed to pending today. It seems to be a general change to prepare applications for board review. Admissions told her last week that they are working through thousands of applications and please be patient. They also told her everything looked good (with no nomination or DODMERB complete).

I have something similar to what is being said here:

Last week, I called the Naval Academy and they confirmed that my application was 100% complete, early, and still viable for an LOA (Letter of Assurance). On Friday last week, the status of my application stated, "Complete - Pending Review"

Now it updated today and says, "Pending"

Do you know what this current status means? (And what is the difference of the two status statements) And when I get accepted, will it come as an LOA or offer of appointment. Because I know that the Naval Academy is rolling admissions, but the due date is still not until January 31. (By the way, I am nominated to add context)

My portal said LOA then CPR when I got nom and now it’s back to LOA. I am so confused but we must have patience.

In the same boat. Was CPR since early October, but now saying "Pending". I have everything done with a nom and a MOC nom interview this weekend. Could it possibly mean something?

Admission Board meets on Thursdays. Maybe this is just reflecting that files are ready to be reviewed? Just spitballing.

OP here. I appreciate everyone's insight. In the future, if one of you could just lie and say something like, "Oh yeah. Anytime that happens, it changes to 'Fully Qualified Offer' the next day," I would appreciate it. 😆

My DS had glitch but seems now fixed. He received a nomination confirmation from MOC about 2 weeks ago but nothing showed in the portal. MOC office confirmed they sent it quite some time ago. He called MOC office this AM to inquire and w/in an hour everything was sorted. Unsure if the hiccup was on MOC side or portal. It was a bit of additional stress, but all good now.

Any old timer USNA pundit willing to opine on this slight status change? Anyone ever see this/notice this (as it's ever so minimal) in prior years? I'd like to think that @Heatherg21 is correct, and they are board ready, but would love any intel from prior years.

TNT. Torturous New Term. 🧨🧨🧨🧨 Designed to ignite painful pondering.
:popcorn1:

Don’t recall plain “Pending” being discussed in previous years. It always seemed to be CPR until the decision update.

My question is....is anyone not on "pending" status right now?

Portal voodoo appears to be common in college applications and usually ends up not meaning much, until it does. I read about a school last year where your portal had a link to click to schedule your New Student Weekend dates, and if you could click on it and it worked, you were getting in.

This seems pretty across the board though.

Time (along with brain power) can be better spent doing other activities, working on other remaining applications, spending time with friends, sports, etc. then trying to figure out why two words were removed. Nothing has changed about the notification deadline…April 15. “Back in the day” there was no portal, no persistent updates to check on a portal and everyone made it just fine. I would only be concerned if the portal said “incomplete” and a candidate has submitted everything…in that case, contact USNA to verify you are good on your submission.

Solitary "Pending" seems to be a new thing this year.

Two years ago, it was people changing from CPR to an LOA with no conditions on it. People soon realized this was the portal's way of bookmarking a coming appointment offer. When people realized that, there were a lot of happy dances on the forum from applicants (and parents).

My guess is this shift in status is a big fat nothing burger.

I think you are likely correct. For DS, Application is complete with the exception of medical, but no appointment and his portal changed to pending. Would love to think it means something (maybe it does) but at this point he is ignoring it.

Again, is there anyone with a USNA application completed that remains at CPR? Or is everyone's status now "pending?"
For DS, his portal went straight from incomplete to pending. DODMERB is still outstanding, and no nomination, so he doesn’t know what to think.
