Hey guys, I am currrently a sophomore in a Texas highschool. I know you cannot begin to apply until your second semester junior year. But, what all can I do to get a head start? Is there any informational meetings I could attend or people I should get into contact with? Sorry for all the questions, I just don't know who else to ask. The whole process is rather overwhelming but as it is my dream I want to do everything within my power to achieve it. Thankyou for any help and God bless:)

1) Look at the link that Dixieland gave you and sign up to be on the mailing list.
2) Call your Congressman's office and find out when they are having their All Academy Day. This is a very informational meeting where all the academies will have representatives for you to talk to and to answer your questions. Usually, the Congressman will speak about the nomination process.

3) Prepare yourself for the PSAT. If you do well enough - West Point will be contacting you via mailings!
4) Apply for SLS in December of your Junior year.
5) Visit West Point for a day visit. The information on how to do that is on the USMA web site.

Yes - it can be overwhelming! But you are doing the right thing now by learning everything that you can. Then, just take it one step at a time.
In the second half of your Junior year, you will be assigned to a Field Force Representative (if there is one in your area) who will help walk you through the Admissions process. This person will be the link between you and Admissions.

Good Luck! and hopefully, in the end .... 2 Timothy 4:7 :thumb:
