I am only responding for AFROTC and the limited knowledge I know.
1. Yes, you would enter as an AS250. AS250s are sophomores that are taking both the AS100 and 200 class simultaneously.
~You need to talk to your academic advisor to make sure that you de-conflict any class schedules. You will do Lead Lab, and also have PT.
~~ LLAB is usually in the afternoon specific days a week.
~~ PT times vary by det. For our DS it was from 6:30 to 7:30, again specific days of the week. The importance of this is that if you are living off campus, or not attending the host college you will not want that 8:30 or probably not that 9 a.m. class, unless you want to go sweaty. Caveat we live in No VA, traveling 20 miles at 7:30 a.m. can take 45 mins., add in a shower, and change of clothes, it becomes dicey to make it to a class prior to 9 a.m.
2. To the best of my knowledge at this point if you want to commission via ROTC you cannot give all 3 a try.
~ Theoretically, that is not how ROTC works. Had you joined AROTC as a freshmen, and after fall semester say nope don't want Army, you could ask to go over to NROTC or AFROTC, than yes, you could have done that. ROTC is broken into 2 groups for the lack of better words. There are the GMCs (fresh/soph) and POC (jr/sr) At least for AFROTC, you MUST be selected your sophomore yr to attend SFT aka LEAD to move on to becoming a POC. You MUST be a POC for at least 18 months to commission via AFROTC. NROTC also has that make or break yr. Not sure where AROTC stands.
~~ Additionally, I am not sure any ROTC cadre would support a cadet that even could have had the time to jump between all 3 (AROTC fall fresh, left went to NROTC spring fresh, and now wanted to join AFROTC fall soph yr) Their 1st question would be you seem to keep jumping around, why?
~ If you are asking can you do all 3 at one time, that would be impossible because all 3 will have specific PT and LLAB times that are mandatory. I know at my DS's college AFROTC and AROTC both do PT on the exact same days of the week and @ the same time, within @30 mins of each other. Unless you can clone yourself, the last I knew it was physically impossible to be in 2 places at the same time.
3. Yes, when you join you can apply for what is called an ICSP. In College Scholarship Program. Again, it all depends on the branch. AFROTC and NROTC are STEM oriented when it comes to scholarships. AFROTC actually calls the STEM majors, TECH scholarships.
My best advice to you is to take the next few weeks and research what career field you would like to be in upon commissioning. Let's be real, every branch has career fields like Intel, Cyber, Security Police, and flying, etc. However, every branch is different. You want to fly helo's than Navy or Army is your better option over AF. Want to fly fixed wing than Navy or AF is the way to go impo. Want Intel, but not at sea, than Army or AF is better option than Navy. Don't want to go Active Duty upon commissioning than Army is your only way to go.
~ You will be deployed for each branch, so leave that out of the equation.
~ The fact is they will own you for many years, which means you might say I want to go to Eglin AFB (Niceville, Florida) as an Intel officer, but HQAF says ...nope you are going to Mt. Home Idaho. Do not fall for the pretty shiny things. Eglin, Randolph, Hickham, Shaw,Elmendorf, Ramstein, etc, are all the pretty shiny things, but guess what? They are few and far between, because everyone is going to say Hawaii as a 23 yo and Intel officer, sign me up, but the problem is everyone is placing that on their wish list and they only have 1 slot for an O1/2. They then say Germany (Ramstein). Finally, Shaw or Eglin because they are from FL/SC/GA area and they could be close to home is listed as number 3 on their dream list. Just because you listed these three does not mean you will get any of them because there are more places like Dyess (Abilene TX), Cannon (Clovis, NM), Minot ND (Why not MINOT, Freezin is the reason), Seymour Johnson (Goldsboro NC), and Alamogordo NM (OH MY GO NO ALAMOGORDO) that need Intel officers too, somebody has to fill those slots. I am sure the Navy and Army posters know of the same type of bases/posts.
Hope all of this helps in your selection process. Thank you for wanting to serve this great nation.
