I've been sent the ROTC scholarship confirmation letter and I sent it back asking to switch my scholarship to a different school, one that I hadn't originally been given a scholarship to.

It's been over a month and I still have heard nothing back, is this normal? I'm starting to get pretty worried, I have orientation in 2 weeks!

When I used to try to contact my school of choice to see whats up they always said not to get ahead of myself and just wait for the confirmation letter. No more information than that, not even if they even had scholarships available or not.

Advice please?
Are people still waiting to hear back?

Who are you talking to at your choice school? I would make sure to ask for the head PMS when you call. This is going to be his/her decision and since time is short I suggest you go right to the top.

Have you called Cadet Command? That is who I would be dealing with.
I would be in contact with CC immediately.

As the paper stated, you could request a transfer of scholarship and and Cadet Command would take it into consideration. There has to be an allocation open in order for your scholarship to transfer.

Sign onto your ROTC scholarship status page and check what it states. The AROTC status page will tell you where you've accepted your scholarship to. My son's has his school on it.

Good luck.

Good advice thanks, but I can't seem to find the right number for Cadet Command. I found a couple online but it didn't sound like they went through to the right people and nobody answered.
Anyone have the right number please?

I also called the PMS at my school of choice and left a thoroughly confusing and horrible voicemail.. I guess I should have planned what to say better. I did leave my number so I just hope he calls back.

But really though, is it normal to still not have heard back from Cadet Command? Anyone?

I checked my status online and it still says that my scholarship is to the school that I am not going to.

Thanks

Thanks for all the help everyone. After emailing UMD's ROTC, they got back to me and said they called Cadet Command themselves requesting the transfer. It was approved the very next day! I emailed them my address and am now waiting for the packet.
Thanks again guys for helping me every time I freak out.
