So I have a Summer job at a day camp. I am a counselor at a sailing camp for 4 hours a day 5 days a week. I am responsible for the teaching and safety of 4-8 kids in aged 8-14. I also teach private sailing lessons to adults on weekends. Is this something that would be beneficial on my application as a leadership role? I have read about people using jobs as an extracurricular on their application, but not sure if the Academy would look at summer jobs differently than after school jobs. Thanks.

PS: I just started looking into applying to USNA, so I apologize if I ask any question that has an obvious answer somewhere else, as I have not looked very deep into any source yet. Thanks :)

You'll be able to mention summer jobs very briefly on the online application. Your best opportunity to expand on your summer job is during your BGO interview. You can talk all about the leadership you got during your summer job then.

Even if it's not considered leadership you need to make sure it gets into your application. It shows the academies that you're not sitting on your hands all summer or merely playing video games.
