Summer Seminar and Application Timeline

I didn't see it anywhere else so thought I'd ask it here. I know the application for the Summer Seminar doubles as/is the Preliminary Application. Does that mean that applicants to the Summer Seminar get a head start on starting their official application (portal access, etc), or do they just wait until April when the regular start of the application cycle opens?

In the past, I don't recall that being the case. Just that your summer seminar application is essentially front loading your admission's application. I believe the portal will open the same date for everyone (someone please correct me if I am wrong).

Went to Summer Seminar this past June and have just completed admissions file this week. Yes, the SS app is used for much of the personal information regarding a candidate, however, much of the application is closed until it's open to everyone.

Mine attended SS virtually during the summer of 2021. He did not receive his candidate number until sometime in July.
