If my information is correct, you take a practice CFA at summer seminar.

My question is: can the results of this practice CFA really hurt or help you come admission time?

I believe I'm physically fit, and I was just curious because I live on a Naval base at sea level and I've never experience high altitude conditions. I'm pretty sure that a majority of the participants will probably be in the same position, but I've never wanted to be just like everyone else:smile:

unless they changed it, it really is just practice. i can't recall exactly if our resutls were even recorded? anyone? well the point is, by the time you get to the mile, you'll know and feel why it is just practice. when the admissions forms come online for you to complete, the CFA will be on there. it's awesome to be prepared for the practice and do well on it, but be prepared to learn from it and know what you can improve on when the time comes to take it and it counts.

It's definitely a practice. Everyone is doing it pretty much at the same time. They aren't monitoring you individually. You could totally bomb it and it wouldn't affect your application at all. Just like you could ace it and it wouldn't matter. One of the reasons the air force does a practice and not let it count, is because of the elevation. It takes time for people to get accustomed to it. It's more fair to let people take the CFA at home where they are use to it. There are some applicants at the summer seminar who are from the higher elevations that aren't bothered by it; but they just assume you take it at home. The practice is mainly to give you a taste of what it's like and the proper method of doing it.
