Summer Seminar Dates

Hello all! I am hoping to apply and attend the USAFA Summer Seminar, as well as the USMA SLE. The dates do overlap for the sessions available. Do you know if it makes a difference in your application's (your summer seminar application's) competitiveness if indicating that you are available for multiple dates instead of just one date? I am also hoping to attend Boys State and a FBI summer camp if possible. SLE, Summer seminar, and the FBI camp are in June, and I think Boys State will be in June as well, since it was in June for my state last year. The dates might be tight! Thanks.

Suggest that you apply for all the dates that you’re available, to maximize your schedule flexibility. (I highly doubt that your preferred dates make much difference in their decision to accept you.) Then sort things out once you have all your decisions. You can request a date change for any of the DOD SA summer sessions.

DD was accepted to all three and requested flexibility in the dates. The SAs were accommodating and she was able to do them consecutively. It was exhausting, with a lot of travel in between, but gave her great contrasting views of the SAs.

Thank you so much for the response! I will indicate availability for both sessions. I didn't know that you can ask to shift dates if you are accepted - I thought they would tell you which session to attend. That is great! Yes, I saw that one session would end on the 9th for example and the next begin on the 10th. Travel definitely would be hectic!
