Summer Seminar... what is going to happen?

Hi! I have been accepted to attend the Summer Seminar this year! My mom and I have filled out all the information needed, but we are still hesitant about purchasing a plane ticket to Colorado... due to the concerns of COVID-19.
Has anyone bought their tickets yet? Should I wait until further notice? Please let me know what you guys have done!

I don't think will be too hard to get a flight close to the date of the summer seminar... I would advise to wait until you have confirmation from the academy that it is on, when that happens you should get a flight, it most likely will not be fully booked
 
Hi gyjeo! I was accepted to summer seminar session 3. I have purchased my plane tickets to Colorado, so fingers crossed that everything will work out!
 
Airlines have very relaxed refund/exchange policies ATM. So check what they currently are offering on their individual websites. Then decide.
 
yes airlines have been pretty flexible... and you may not see the rates this low again

Thank you for your help! The forms, including my flight information, are due on April 15th. They will announce further procedures by mid-May, the latest. I should still wait, right?
 
The way I am managing flights, is purchasing them super cheap now. I use Southwest mainly, who has a very generous NORMAL ‘refund’ policy (refunded to a travel voucher for future use, valid for a year. But that year is presently waived I believe due to covid19). So I personally would purchase now, knowing that it would go towards future travel if I had to cancel.

I would NOT purchase a non-refundable ticket. There is a possibility that summer programs won’t run as planned/scheduled.

But that’s ME. It’s a decision you need to make with checking with the airlines. If you go to their website most have their policy flagged.
 
Most airlines are very flexible right now, and airfares are very good. I would move forward if you see a good flight and rate and make sure it is refundable or changeable without fee.
 
I am attending session A I bought tickets round tip for $250 from Pittsburgh PA. I suggest buying them now and not waiting. They have good deals now too!
 
My son is attending from PA, we booked flights on American, and even their normal non-refundable tickets are flexible at this point due to closures or cancellations. We were able to get round trip from Phila to Denver for $160.

I'm also attending session A!!!!!! Maybe we can see each other. That'd be awesome :D. I've decided to buy tickets and bought them last Friday. Coming from North Jersey! And yes! The prices are cheap these days! I paid around $92 for one-way from Newark, NJ. Hope you are safe and well :).

My DS is attending session B but we bought tickets the first week of March before things were this crazy. He is already disappointed about the canceling of Boys State so sure would love for this to work out but seems unlikely. Like many of you, he has been planning this for many years.

Ah, the best-laid plans...

My DD is going to session 3 I think? She’s also going to West Point SLE Session 1. She did CVW at Navy in January so not sure if she will get in to SS. I have not purchased plane tickets yet but will now since reading all your posts !! Good luck everyone. Stay safe ♥️
