Im emailing my vice principle who is giving me recomendation letters. I'm telling him to address them as follows:

Address to:
Senator frankin (nomination)
Senator klobachar (nomination)
Congressmen John Klein (nomination)
USAFA admissions
USNA admissions
USMA admissions
Afrotc selection board
Nrotc selection board
Arotc selection board
University of mn selection board
UCLA selection board

Are these okay? If I want to apply for more colleges in the future, can I change the heading myself? He will be giving me the letters once he writes them. Thanks!

I suppose it is ok for the elected people, but I recall the way the academies work is you request a recommendation from a teacher through the academy applicant site and an email is sent from the academy to the teacher, who then responds electronically to a questionnaire. Thus, what you will need from the teacher is an email address they will be checking over the summer.

Phil,

The personal touch is always nice, so good for your for thinking about that.

On the other hand, my DS was sensitive to the fact that he was asking for a favor from his teachers, et al. So rather than individualizing each one, he suggested the generic "to whom..." for all of his letters. That way he could use them for plan B and C schools and any unforeseen recommendation requests too.

Good luck and keep up the good work!

Phil,

Also, besides what JMS pointed out, that the academies and ROTC are eletronic questionaires, check and make sure your MOC's require the vice principal as a person who writes a recommendation. In our state the MOC's state specifically who they want them from (vice principal is not one of them.)

Good luck!
