Teacher Recommendation Question

I am trying to line up my teacher recommendations for my upcoming application. How does it work...do I list my references and then USMA reaches out to them after I submit my application, or do I ask my references for the recommendation, and either I submit it as part of the application or they submit it separately?

When your portal opens in July or August you will input contact email for the teachers you choose and they will receive the form to upload. Easy process just have to wait for it.
 
Thank you for the quick and helpful reply. Do you know whether USNA and USAFA also do it the same way? Does the form consist of a series of questions or assessments or does it just ask for a basic recommendation letter?

Teacher Evaluations

Hello everyone, I was looking into the teacher evaluations, and it said that you need a math teacher evaluation, does it have to be specifically "math math" like calculus or can it be another mathematics based class like Business/Finance? I am also worried because my high school career...

I would recommend you get the school's main phone number and jot it down. You will need to advise the teachers that they are expecting an email with a link, and to check their spam folders. They will need the phone number you listed to enter the system. For our son, he listed the main number for the high school so he didn't have to give direct lines for each teacher. It worked, one number to remember and the teachers all know that one. I believe there is a spot for teachers to make additional remarks in addition to the questions they answer.

VERY IMPORTANT! Have your teachers check their spam folders when these go out! My DS's went to his teacher's spam folders.
 
You put down the teacher's info on your portal and the teachers receive an email from USMA with instructions on how to write you a recommendation letter. You are technically not allowed to see what they write.
