My DS recently was awarded the 4 year NROTC scholarship and was granted admission to TAMU at Blinn, More specifically he will be dually enrolled at TAMU and Blinn as part of the TEAB program. Is anyone a former student of this program, or have a current student in this program? We feel blessed to have admission into any TAMU program…we just need to fully understand how this translates into daily life in the Corps at TAMU. My DS would love to know if this was a “partial enrollment” in any way. Will he be spending most of his time at Blinn, how far is it, are there lots of cadets attending, how do they get there? Those types of issues. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Congratulations! Blinn TEAM and Texas A&M Engineering Academy at Blinn (TEAB) are considered full-time Texas A&M students as it pertains to the Corps of Cadets. There's a TEAB schedule link with information he might find helpful:
Also, the Aggie bus system has routes between campuses (free). This link has information on that:
Corps of Cadets have guaranteed on-campus housing. He'll want to register for NSC soon and get setup by selecting Corps housing.
The distance between the two campuses is not too far, but it's not walking distance. DS would need to utilize the bus system or have his own transportation. The Corps schedule has 7:30-4:30 blocked off for the Academic Day so if your DS can schedule classes in that timeframe it should not impact his Corps activities.

This may be a silly question, but you are aware of the patriot scholarship that Texas A&M offers aren’t you?

Congratulations to your son. I am familiar with the Patriot scholarship, actually recently aware thanks to information from the Corp of Cadets. That is a definite plus.
He Just can’t shake the feeling of being partially enrolled or having lesser of an experience than the average cadet. Trying to see how many others are going to Blinn so that we can minimize that concern. Thanks for your feedback.

There is a bus between TAMU and Blinn several times a day transporting cadets back and forth. I have even seen cadets in uniform OCP's riding a bike to class too. Imagine walking out of a chemistry class in the Chem building then needing to be in a class in 30 minutes in the behavior lab past the Bush library. Taking classes at Blinn is propbably a good thing.

Class of '25 here (Current Junior). I was enrolled under the TEAB program and can say from personal experience that it was more of an advantage than a disadvantage. You're just as much of a student and a cadet as everyone else, except you go to class at a different building that happens to be on a separate part of campus. The RELLIS campus, where all the Blinn classes are, is actually still A&M land. The building and the professors are the only things that aren't stamped with A&M there. The TEAB program is 2 years at the longest, but you are able to move to full-time student class hours at A&M before then if you enter a major earlier.

Something to note is that a large portion of the incoming freshman engineers are being offered this option. The engineering program is quickly outgrowing the facilities available to them on-campus and they are using the TEAB program and the facilities at RELLIS to compensate for that. More of an allocation of numbers thing rather than an order of merit thing.

If you look at any thread on here regarding "crosstown" students, 9 out of 10 times people say it's more of an advantage than disadvantage. A few reasons: separate military vs school life, have a wider selection of social groups due to not always being forced to be with the same ROTC people, etc
