Stand by for heavy rolls. Bug juice machine on the mess decks, CPO mess, or ward room. Probably the mess decks. The thing next to it looks like an ice cream machine and ships of this era likely have only one.

I agree - Crews Mess (EDF)
Wardroom and Goat Locker usually have better/different paneling on the bulkheads.

In the late 70s early 80s division corpsmen were out with the Marines painting rocks and putting rake lines in the sand. I was able to get out of that and spent so much time working at the hospital they made me senior corpsman in the ER my last few months at Lejeune.
 
y'all surely know "EMPTY" means empty of ammo but full of sand.
 
Well, shoooot!!! I'm not sure why the Marines need to get in on this "change grooming standards" kick. Current Marine haircut regs: "Hair may be no longer than 3 inches long and the bulk of the hair (as your hair lies flat on your head..." It goes on to say hair is tapered from the natural neckline up to at least three quarter inch. This is the same for the Navy except I believe the Navy allows a four inch growth.

Some are light green, some are medium green, some are dark green, but all are lean, mean, fighting machines.

I was aboard and in CIC for this. Actually, my station had a high quality optical view of the explosion as it happened. The aftermath included about a 40 or so degree roll as well as huge shock wave effects.
