DD finally got the last checkbox on medical questions and has a status of medically qualified.

Realistically, is it too late in the cycle for a positive outcome?
I am mostly trying to figure out if I need to save some budget to visit the academy or if I should make the best option of our Plan B that looks really for her good too!

Nope, not yet. Our oldest son had to complete some AMI info in March, got his waiver approved around April 11 and received his appointment on April 18, 2022 for the class of 2026. With that being said, unfortunately you never know. The waiting game is not for the faint of heart! If she hasn't received a rejection then she is still in the hunt. Good Luck!

Everyone should have a plan B. Even those with appointments. Obviously if you don’t get in and if your cadet has an appointment but gets inquired before I day. They say to still put money down for college by May 1st to hold a spot just in case of the unexpected injury.

Thank you. We have plan B ready… was just curious if the previous comment was implying things are looking less likely for appointments at this late date. I appreciate the replies.

Still in the game! I am still in the process of getting medically qualified, however, I received an offer of appointment (conditional on medical) on March 20th. Best of luck!

Later it gets towards I-day, less appointments available so just have plan B ready incase TWE comes.

My DS received a TWE then about a month later, on June 5th received an offer to the USAFA Prep School. He had his classes and room mates all picked out at his plan "B" school. He immediately called up the admissions at his plan "B" and explained the situation. They were very understanding and deferred him for one year, then refunded his entire deposit amount. This was over a year ago, he is a Doolie (i.e. Freshman) at the USAFA right now. Moral of the story is to keep checking, you never know what could happen or when.

Are you implying with “have a strong plan b” that the TWE is becoming more likely at this point in the process?
I was told by my alo I should only be caring about my plan B and that it was highly unlikely for me to get accepted. Huh my "highly unlikely" situation has now lead to a school called the zoo weird.

Never self eliminate. No TWE means still fighting

Thank you all for the words of encouragement. I rephrase them often to my DD.
Our plan B is strong and the family would be happy with whichever choice she makes.
I just hate that a 2 branch plan that we assume is a solo could suddenly become 2 again...
We are a family of planning... this process frustrates frequently in that area. lol
