Sorry to hear about all the TWEs today, but thank you for reporting them. When Inget some free time I’ll tidy up the list.

Personally, my DS has not checked his portal or email today (he doesn’t check every day. Everything he does is by text/Insta) so I do not know his status. Will report as soon as he tells me.
 
Sorry to hear about the TWEs. We were sent our dreaded email today and USNA 2023 is not going to happen. DS (Darling Son for the folks who asked for definitions of DD and DS) is understandably very down... but he will bounce back and has the NROTC Scholarship to take another route to commissioning or until he decides to reapply for USNA 2024. We are from CT, too. Bad day for the Nutmeg State.

My question is how will I know that I have been denied a medical waiver besides the letter they send to my house? Like will they email and tell me or will they automatically update DODMERB?
 
Our list was sadly trimmed by ~20% today. However, on the "glass is half full" side, what is the alternative to the email/portal update/TWE that we all fear is lurking at every screen refresh? When you are appointed, is the proceedure the same, but the TWE is actually announcement of an appointment and BFE en route?

***Might want to edit - saw #28 got a TWE 10 April 19 on the TWE forum?

For us, when our son received an appt to USMMA, the dodmerb site updated to “medical waiver granted.” For USNA, of which he was denied yesterday, the email they sent said “there would be no further review of his medical status.” So, this entire time for naval, dodmerb has said “pending waiver review”. Best wishes to you. I keep hearing if you made it this far, you were a strong candidate.
