Will this affect my admission to service academies?

I am currently an applicant for service academies and other ROTC scholarships. I was tested POSITIVE on my skin test around during my 3rd grade year. A month ago, my physician told me to take an x-ray examination to check if I was still positive. When I got the results, I was cleared and I had no signs or anything about having active TB. On a side note, they gave me a pill to take which I forgot what it was called when I was tested positive during my 3rd grade year. I took it around 6-9 months. I am not so sure about the exact month count, but I remember taking one pill a day during my 3rd grade year. I am concern that everything will be taken away from me if I get a DQ on my DoDMERB. I will be scheduling my medical checkups soon for DoDMERB.
I need to get a clear picture of this before time runs out. I am currently a senior in high school with big dreams getting into West Point. I hope someone will be able to clear this issue with me. Thank you so much!

No one on this forum can clear you of anything. All we can do is answer questions and point you to the guidance.

Read it for yourself-- don't take my word for it.

From DODI 6130.03, section 5.10, a disqualifier would be:

"r. Tuberculosis: (1) History of active pulmonary or extra-pulmonary tuberculosis in the previous 2 years or history of active pulmonary or extra-pulmonary tuberculosis without reliable documentation of adequate treatment, or (2) History of latent tuberculosis infection, as defined by current Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, unless documentation of completion of appropriate treatment."

How does that sound?

Probably INH was the drug. Lots of false positives from the PPD skin test. Did the Dr. follow-up with addnl. testing? Not sure what the protocol for that was when you were 7-8 y/o, but should be in your medical chart from that doctor. Have their office mail you a copy of your chart & show it to your current doctor for their review.

I am quite a bit older than you, but when I was a kid I tested positive. I was treated with the medicine for a full year. As an adult working in healthcare I am tested every year. I have never tested positive on a TB test. I can only assume it was one of the false positives.
