TWEs will be sent this week

The aeronautics degree...B.S. with a military emphasis is through Liberty U in Virginia.
Their Air Force ROTC detachment is in partnership nearby at UVA. We went to visit Embry Riddle in Daytona Beach, and the ROTC rep explained that ROTC only offers scholarships for degrees which are needed by the Air Force. Aeronautics is not one of them, so while he can still join AFTOTC, he cannot obtain a 3 or 4 yr scholarship with chosen degree. DS has been accepted to LU, now waiting to hear back regarding separate Aeronautics school admission.
Aeronautics as in engineering or is this some other degree? What is the difference? I do know that aeronautical engineering is definitely one of the sought after technical degrees through AFROTC. Perhaps I need a bit more education in that area.

Different than engineering. Degree can offer a student a direct path to piloting/licensing; grads usually recruited by commercial airlines. LU offers a military track emphasis.

I see. Thanks for the education.
