Uhhhhh .... Portal status change for my son ......

Would this be the 'place holder' LOA that seems to be popping up this year? Or does he have something yet to clear?

Plot Twist: he LOVES his NROTC unit, and declines....

I asked if there were any documents attached. He screen-shotted me the portal, and there were none. So, I told him it is probably the placeholder one.

Yeah, on that other part? He has had a girlfriend for months now, and he does like his unit. So that isn't out of the realm of possibility!!

(But, he goes to school only about 45 minutes away from the Academy, so he could still see her every weekend if he had liberty).

This is his choice. I'm trying not to unduly influence it.

If I was also tracking, his medical clearance had already been done for USNA, but was still pending for NROTC. So, there's that in the calculus. And I keep hearing rumors about him shifting over to GWU. Not sure where those are coming from, but they're supposedly from well-placed sources.

They were both back in the same review. His NROTC one is taking a tick longer, but it appears that the Academy decided that with the paperwork he submitted for his non-issue, they may have just reverted back to the waiver he already had in place.

BUT ..... until he sees the actual offer in his portal and makes the decision, everything is still up in the air.

As everyone knows ...... he crashed and burned on the first one, but the second one is looking pretty good so far. :yllol:

Sir, as for the GWU option? As we've seen so much in the media lately, if you keep saying things loudly and often, people start to believe it is true, even when it is totally not. :bleh2:
