updating the academy

Good advice. I will do both. Thanks!

[EDIT] looking at the XC/Track questionnaire, there is no place to stick in HM times; just space for cross country and track events. So I will be sending the HM times in to admissions regardless.

WOW!!!!!!! that's a good 5K! my best is a sad 23:03

Speaking of things that are or arent important for the board, should I talk about my art career? I've done some pretty good things like won several art competitions, and later this year my friend and I are getting an art show together where the proceedings will go toward ovarian cancer research...but this isn't till March :(. Plus the academy isn't big on art, so I didn't bother in my application.

Correct; the academy isn't that big on art. But they ARE VERY BIG on community service; leadership; challenges; maturity; etc....

Your "Art" contributed to fund raising for a charity. You showed your leadership abilities in being in charge of something and following through and being an example to others. You tackled a challenge and beat it. Your maturity was displayed by putting the needs of others above yourself.

See where I'm going with this. Again; I CAN NOT say this too many times. ON PAPER: This is not the time to be humble or shy. In a face to face interview; you have to be a little bit more humble. Still have it ALL on your resume; but allow the ALO or MOC to ASK questions about it. Then it's NOT bragging or being arrogant. However; HAVE IT ON PAPER. On your application, resume, etc... If it's an accomplishment that CAN'T get you thrown in jail; and it didn't create and bring a new child into the world; then it is almost ALWAYS something that should be put on paper and in your application and resume. later... mike...
