For all those candidates that have received appointments congrats. For all those who have not, hang your head high. You may be frustrated that your not in this wave of appointments that have happened recently. Remember that there is still time.

I am a junior "by credit" in college (my 2nd year) and I have already applied once before to the USAFA and got rejected because I could not receive a nomination. However, the drive was still there. This year I received a nomination from my MOC and was ecstatic. Even though my MOC was not re-elected I knew there was nothing to worry about because his slate was secured. I was one step closer to my dream. However, the wait was still on. I've been finished since late December but I was still eager with everything. I asked a lot of questions and tried to find out as much information as I could.

This is a great example of the passion some of you guys have. Literally today I woke up from a dream where someone told me I got an Appointment to USAFA in a song? Weird Right. Not really. Most of you all have the drive and the want to get into the academy. This must be killing you. Your probably a great candidate. However, if you find out in April you were not selected then don't hang your head. To make it to this point has been an accomplishment in itself. If you get it great but if you don't get it then add it the fuel for the fire of next years application.

In my case, I would have to evaluate if I wanted it that badly to do another 4 years of college because at that point I would probably graduate if I stay on track with my schedule. However, justify everything. If I were going to re-apply next year it would be because I want to obtain a second major while gaining awesome opportunities at the USAFA Academy.

This really helped me today! Still waiting for any news from the academy, and it is killing me! I have a good back up and plan to apply next year if I don’t get in this year. It is really helpful to hear from someone who was in a similar position. Congratulations for all you’ve accomplished!
