I personally can't stand the DS, DD, DH, DW stuff. Just a personal pet peeve. So I just say my son, or my wife, etc.

I think about 5000 get nominated and are 3Q but only around 1200 get offered appointments, could be wrong though

Class size each year is around 1150, approx 1500 appointment offers are made.

1) Being accepted to Summer Seminar has no bearing on being appointed. Summer Seminar is an outreach program.

Looking at last years thread, March 10th was a HUGE day. Since we have only seen Falcon Scholars report I would assume that this week is just for them and next week would be for direct appointments which would make sense considering last years results.

Oh, I know! Prior military here AND I work as a civil servant for NASA. I'm chalk-full of acronyms!

Thank you! I've noticed on other college forums, as announcements approach, threads seem to devolve into repetitive speculation. In some cases a way for us to deal with nerves and the wait I'm sure, but appreciate your effort to keep this thread focused on actual appointment announcements Good luck to everyone.

@anlee, (edited after re-reading your post and realized you're still waiting...) hopefully you'll hear soon, and 3rd time will be a charm for you. I've heard older cadets tend to find each other. You and my DS will both be a couple years older than the bulk of the class appointed directly from high school.

Very nerve wracking for sure but I’ve found that working out really helps for me. I’ve also gotten really into reading (more than I normally do), but personally working out is a great way to relieve stress while simultaneously preparing for summer training if I do get in!

Yes, for sure! Last year my DS was appointed on Tuesday, March 3, but his MoC was not able to reach him. He did not know he received an appointment until the following Tuesday, March 10th, when he got an email about a portal change. The portal then showed two new letters in his mailbox from March 3rd and 10th.

If you do not hear anything this week, don't panic, USAFA may just be giving your MoC a chance to contact you. Between now and next Tuesday should be the Big Wave. Good Luck!
