USAFA Appointment!

My DS is a Falcon Scholar and recently received his appoint to the USAFA. You will need to reapply to all four nomination sources; they advise you to apply for all four (president, VP, senator and MOC). Once you complete the above and your kid remains competitive (basically doing all the stuff they expect you to do), they will make sure you are able to obtain a nomination from one of the sources. You also have to submit another application to USAFA but its condensed. Hope I answered your question.

thanks for that. My son is still waiting on the decision from USAFA and has been appointed to MMI as a backup as well as an opportunity to do ROTC at a state school. we are visiting MMI next week. I am wondering what the odds are that he's able to pull an appointment after a year if he is not a sponsored cadet. We can certainly self sponsor and I think the experience would be great for him regardless, but I definitely want to set expectations. Will get a better feeling meeting with LTC Bowen at MMI next week.

That is actually one of the few questions I don't know. Sorry. As far as I'm aware the school will post the falcons acceptance but when checking their websites last fall, I was unable to find information for those who are not falcons. It a question worth asking MMI.

I know they commissioned 11 to usafa last year. I’ll be sure to ask next week. Thanks.
