My DD got an email from a staff member at our MOC office. It advised her portal would be updated on 1/30 with an offer of appointment(which it was!). They actually forwarded the USAFA admissions email that was sent to them, to her. She got it about a week before portal was updated. The morning of the 30th she actually had an email as well from the academy advising her to check her portal regarding an appointment.

They inform your MOC first to allow them the opportunity to call and give you the good news. Usually one week later you will be notified to check your portal with an update of an appointment.

I would be curious and maybe the best thing to do is for someone to start a new thread but why have people accepted or declined USAFA? There seems to be a lot of undecided. I just get the feeling that many DSs and DDs have multiple SA options. Just curious as why you made the decision you did. Maybe keep the response somewhat brief but specific and yet anonymous. I think that would help others that are having to make or will have to make a life changing decision to accept and / or decline a SA.
 
As of right now, I want to be a pilot. I know that USAFA has more slots available per class year to be a pilot, but in the case that I don’t medically qualify to be a pilot or if I end up changing my mind within the next three years, USNA gives me more options of things I would enjoy doing. Whereas USAFA has many more options to be restricted line, I would rather go unrestricted line (Marine Corps, SWO, etc.). Although I loved it when I visited USAFA, I felt a feeling of pride and belonging I didn’t feel at USAFA that I did at USNA. I know I’d be happy wherever I ended up going, but USNA and the Navy works best with what I’m looking for.

My exact thought process as well.
 
It seems the appointment activity is slow for USAFA or is that the way it is at this time of the year? Is this the "quiet before the storm"? Looking at last year's thread, I would have quessed their would be a few more appointments.

Still, last couple years there were very few Feb appointments compared to March. March is the big month!

I thought the same thing and checked last year's thread. By February 12, same day last year, there were 38 self reported appointments vs 44 this year. Really feels quiet though and USMA/USNA have almost double the appointments. We're all antsy!

I probably know less than anyone here, but it appears the bulk of offers are made 2nd week through the end of March.
