Just curious, what is the rough percentage of candidates that get LOAs? I have completed my application and received 2 MOC nominations and have done everything but updated my DoDMERB status, which will be done soon. Also, for regular MOC nominations when can we expect appointments and does anyone know about how many candidates with nominations receive appointments? Thanks!!

I'm not sure of a percentage, but I can tell you it's very small. The large majority of appointees don't get an LOA. You can look at previous year's appointment threads if you want to get an idea of numbers (but keep in mind only a small portion of appointments are posted on thus forum). LOAs are rare, and remember that an appointment is the end goal. Once you're at the Academy, nobody cares if you had an LOA or not.

As for expecting appointments- most come out in March and April. Based on previous trends, they come out in batches in mid March, mid/end of April, and then trickle through May and sometimes even as late as June.

I've heard that ~50% of candidates who are qualified academically, athletically, and medically recieved some sort of offer either direct admission, falcon foundation scholarship, or AF prep school. Not sure if that number includes those with a nomination.
