USAFA DoDMERB Concerns

Hello, I'm a current junior looking to apply for the USAFA class of 2027. I've been looking through these forums for a while regarding osgood schlatter disease (which I currently have). I've also read that it shouldn't be a problem as long as it stopped hurting.

The main concern, is that my osgood schlatter still hurts (though less than before). The pain usually stops once the bones stop growing, but I've been told from a doctor that I'm still growing (and even if the pain stops, the DoDMERB guideline includes osgood schaltter from the past year). I'm not sure what my options are, and what I can do to work around this, since there's a big chance that I'll be DQ'd. It might be a while into the future, but can I bet my money on a medical waiver, given that I meet the conditions/competitive applicant status? Thank you!

Advice:

1. Go to the DODMERB forum
2. Read Mr. Mullen's "sticky's" about the process
3. If you wish, read Mr. Mullen's "how to contact me" instructions
4. Contact Mr. Mullen

He's the ONE person in these forums that can give you 100% factual answers regarding the DODMERB process, and all things DODMERB.

My Son experienced this. Very painful during his soccer games. Luckily we had a lot of good advice from other parents on the team and it was all a part of growing. Sure enough the shot up 5 inches.
