Do all applicants get contacted for an interview once their application is complete, and they are medically qualified? My son’s application has been complete for about a month, but he has not been contacted for an interview.

For me last year I had to contact my interviewer. However, it was near the end of December so I didn’t have much time left. I think you should contact him by the end of this month if he hasn’t contacted you.

My son's USAFA interviewer contacted him a few weeks after his application was completed. His ALO said it wouldn't be a bad idea to reach out if it took longer than a month, and that doing so may impress the interviewer as being proactive in the process.

Here's the perspective of an ALO (me).

If your son or daughter is a candidate and is checking their portal daily and they suddenly see an "Evaluator ALO" listed, have them contact that ALO ASAP. A proactive e-mail is fine. If they want to send a little personal information to the evaluator, fine. But showing interest and attention to detail by being quick and ready...that goes a LONG way.

I will usually wait two weeks...if I don't hear from the candidate by then, I will reach out.
