I've received an appointment to USAFA, conditional on getting my medical status approved, and I have no idea what to do to get the exam done. The only thing I found out on the DoDMERB website was that they'll contact me for the exam--but how long will that be, and is there anything I need to do or someone I need to contact in the meantime?

Mr. Matt Prisk is the gym teacher at my school, and he sent me to this website, telling me that you were incredibly helpful when his daughter, Ann, was going through this process. Although I come from a military family, I'll be the first of the Stones to attend a Service Academy, so we don't really have any experience in this.

Can you give me a little more information on how the medical exams work?

If you've had all your admissions paperwork into USAFA for a while I would give DoDMERB a call tomorrow morning and find out what is going on. There is a possibility that with all of DoDMERB's IT problems that your scheduling card was never sent to you.

Give them a call at 800-841-2706, and when the menu comes up select the scheduling option. If it has been a while (over a month) since you've had your admissions package completed, make sure to let them know, and ask them if they can expedite your package.

If you have any issues, feel free to let me know.
