I am sorry to hear that. Rejections are somewhat like appointments where there are steady appointments up to a big wave (of appointments) in mid March and there are steady rejections up to a big wave (of rejections) in mid April.
Very sorry to hear. If he plans on applying again next year, at least it will give him an advantage because he has already been through the application and knows what to improve on. Don’t give up! What were his scores on his CFA for reference?

Sorry to hear that! My DS passed the CFA at USNA Summer Seminar, and they reported those scores to USAFA. I'm curious if the "passing standards" are similar between the two schools.
My understanding is that they are not. Each SA has their own standards.....
When I sent my passing CFA scores from my USNA SLE to the USAFA, they suggested I retake/resubmit it. I think my situp count was low, but we had been doing a lot of abdominal exercises, and I was sore! I retook it and about doubled my situp count, but dropped a bit in some of the other scores. My retested scores were good enough to get an appointment to the USMA, so hopefully they are satisfactory for the USAFA.

Yes I am. I was given my appointment back in November but did not hear anything official until January. My coach said they are making their way through them.
It will replace the spot where it says "Candidate Kit 100% Completed" or whatever it says. It will say "Your decision is ready" with a golden envelope and that will be the big moment.

You will get an email saying to check your portal. Then on your portal where it says 100% complete will change to a gold envelope. This will have your acceptance letter
I received an LOE (or is it LOI for USAFA?) in October that replaced the "100% Complete" part with a golden envelope that contained the letter. If I or others have received a letter that already took that place, are the contents of the golden envelope changed, or is a second one added for a decision notification?
My DD is still waiting after LOE in October too. I read from someplace that the LOE with golden envelope will be removed, then the appointment letter will appear a couple of days later.
This appeared to be the case back in December/January. However, I wouldn't bank on it being the case still. USAFA could have fixed that error.
It will be replaced. There will not be a second one added for actual decision.
