USAFAPS 2024

I wonder how the drop out failure rate is at prep school when compared against each of the 3 prep schools.

I have have an un proven theory with no data to support it. I would bet that naps has a higher rate of not passing at prep graduation based on its location.

Unlike Army and AF the Navy prep school is not on campus with the SA.

And I think that might make some difference in how much you feel apart of something and how much you might enjoy something.

Newport must feel like a million miles away from the Yard much of the time.
I think that you are right about NAPS. At USAFAPS they go to the Hill for Majors' Night, they interact with some Academy faculty, also many Preppies take classes at the Hill if they are really good academically speaking, they get the chance to fly if they are selected for Early Path to Wings (an amazing new program developed for the Prep School), and talk to many cadets for different reasons during the academic year. Also, last year, they got to hang out with The King, Mr. Richard Petty and his Nascar Team. Amazing experience. At NAPS you have nothing like that.

USAFAPS Class of 2023 was supposed to start with 228 Cadet Candidates. On I-Day 219 CC's were present.
Any idea how many offers they made or normally would make to get to 228/219?

I was surprised to hear from someone who would know that for FF last year 200 offers were made to get to 66.

No idea. But one will think that the number should be 300 or less.

And 200 offers just to get 66 it is a lot haha I do think that Prep sent 600 offers to get 220. But who knows...

Nope you are correct naps has nothing like that except for maybe one bus trip to the Yard for a quick weekend look see. This does sound both civilized and fun.

what naps does have is the significant influence of the USMC and an AD USMC officer this past year telling the entire class during a speech that they are at naps, for one thing——to learn to become killlers.

Location may not be the only difference between the prep schools And their graduation rates,

Hi, I just recently recieved notice of my appointment to the USAFAPS! I am prior enlisted Air Force Reserve, and am interested in learning more about how to be a competitive cadet candidate during my time at P school. I have read through all the above posts and really appreciate the advice.

Thank you.

Michigan preppie will be there !!

we are very excited . My question is that they say that only 80% are accepting into the academy . Do you know what the approximate breakdown on the reasons the 20% doesn’t make it to the academy ?
With a current 23 Preppie I can tell you that most drop out for either academics or because they realize this isn't the life for them. Serveral of the recruited athletes leave after their season as the experience at The P gives boosts their resume for a different school. The Preppies are told they already have a spot at The Hill it's up to them to lose it. I can tell you the whole team at The P has been amazing and they are truly invested in making the Preppies as successful as they can be.

My son is a direct to The P and he has many friends who are "Priors" who have made it enjoyable for him. I would honestly tell you that remembering to be a great team mate as well as helping out the folks with zero experience will show your leadership along with solid grades and volunteering for positions of leadership.

hi guys! recently accepted my offer for USAFAPS! i was wondering if there’s an appointee kit with instructions for usafa prep school ? has anyone recieved it?
