Seems to be pretty standard. Class of 2019 had 388 appointments offered and 291 sworn in.
That is 75% for 2019. Dropping 5 % in one year is quite significant IMHO because the class size is small. I have not been tracking CGA's appointment so please pardon my ignorance. I imagine they may have to keep a few more on the waitlist to fill the class if they plan to offer any less this year.

If you are curious as to the nuts and bolts of the numbers, perhaps you should private message Objee on this forum, as he is the only official poster actually in CGA Admissions. I will say that Admissions is quite adept at working the yield to reach the goal of accepted appointments for each given year.

Now this is all IMHO...
Somewhere way back in this thread 295 was the said target number for this year class of 2021. I think there was discussion back then how many would possibly accept. Somewhere also buried in the the pages of SA forums it was mentioned CGAS would be an important piece of the admissions number. I am not about to try to find it.

If EA gave out 192 and 30% accepted then 134 will come out of EA

CGAS had approximately 66 finish their basics and went to 3 schools. Let's say all made it. I have skin in this game so I don't want to think the worst. (But if there are any doubting Debbie's pull 10% out) I believe the CGAS number will be larger than last years class of 2020. There was some mention of that last summer.

That will leave 95 spots during Regular action will accept their appointment. Possibly 124 appointments will be given during RA.

Last year per a posted CGA article 185 athletes were sworn in.

It is what it is and yes why am still on this forum sweating bullets cause my DD won't find out if she made it til end of May from CGAS.

If you DD is currently in CGAS, she should be very aware of the requirements in order to attain an appointment. If she has been successful in her CGAS year, her odds of receiving an appointment are very high. So yes, those appointments of current CGAS cadets that do not come until late in the cycle, do account for a significant percent of the appointment total.

Idk if they stick to it but my DS appointment letter said they would be giving out around 400 appointments for an intended class of 295 for '21

Wow very surprised to hear that! Very early for someone to come off of the waitlist. Red 410, just a reminded that they did say that most of us waitlisters would be wanting until after May 1

Congratulations stefcia98!

That does sound strange. I also thought EA would have to wait until after May 1 and RA were selected, notified and allowed to accept. Did the rules change?
